Thomas P. McDonald was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on December 5, 1980. In 1999 he graduated from Craig High School. Three and a half years later, in December 2002, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a bachelor's degree in accounting. In December of 2003 he earned his masters in accounting also from UW-Whitewater. Following his time in Whitewater, Tom worked for an insurance company in Madison before heading to law school in the fall of 2004. While in law school, Tom studied law in, Scotland, Ireland, and Australia in addition to St. Louis University. As a result of his studies in foreign countries, when he graduated from Saint Louis University School of Law in January of 2007, Tom earned a Certificate in International Law. Upon graduation, he moved back to Janesville to join McDonald Law Office. Tom married Elaine in 2010; they have one child.
